Diversity
Our Multicultural School
At St Gabriel's we celebrate the different languages spoken at our school and value the different cultural experiences that each child brings to the school.
We encourage children to continue to develop their first language alongside English and Irish and we seek to involve all parents in school life.
Language support teachers work in the school to support children for whom English is an additional language. The aim of this support is to assist and extend learning and language skills across the curriculum.
We welcome children from all faiths and cultures. They and their parents bring to our school a rich diversity of languages and ways of life. At any time there are about 15 different home languages.
We are very fortunate that our school community includes people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, and we are committed to valuing all members of the school community equally.
Show Racism the Red Card
The school proudly works alongside local clubs such as Bohemian's FC, in initiatives such as Show Racism the Red Card. This has seen pupils taking part in exhibitions matches at half time during Soccer Internationals in both Landsdowne Road and Croke Park.
This year 2009, we are taking part in the European FARE Week see Latest News section.
